    Soundproof Your Home

Do you like to sleep in a room where every once in a few minutes you can hear the thunderous tolling of buses passing by? Have you ever experienced watching a tv shows like Game of Thrones when you need to turn up the volume to be able to hear what is Daenerys talking about? Have you tried to ignore the abrupt roaring motorbikes sound while concentrating on solving a 12-year-old math question that looks like a Mensa IQ test? Do you like to hear the rhythmic pounding of the nearby road constructions when you are trying to get the baby to sleep? That’s where the soundproof windows come in. Living in…

    Brush Lettering

Do you know what is brush lettering? Is it the same as calligraphy? Why is this trend now? Can it be a hobby? Am I the only one who is curious about brush lettering? Recently I have read an article about doing brush lettering. Out of curiosity, I decided to check it out online and found out that actually hand lettering has been trending for a few years now. So where did I go these few years for not knowing this is the latest fad around town? Beats me. Last month I decided to sign up for a brush lettering workshop held at The Workroom. The workshop is very popular…

Aqua Aerobics – Week 5 Challenge

Today I made new progress on this aqua aerobics. This was the first time I did the noodle routine without holding onto the side of the pool for most of the lesson. Yay! Usually when we started using the noodle, I would inevitably move to the side of the pool to hold onto it so I would not float away. But this time, curious about how others could do it, I also tried to stand away from the side of the pool. To my surprise, I could do it. The secret is to use both hands to balance your body while one of the legs step on the noodle. It…

Aqua Aerobics – Week 3 Challenge

This week lesson was the combination of last 2 weeks lessons, i.e. doing the aerobics routine using a noodle together with music. Sound so complicated! Last week, we had been using the noodles without any music. So I know how to use a noodle but still not that confident in handling it. First, instructor came by and greeted us with fast pace music for warm up exercise. The warm up exercise consisted of a series of jog on the spot (in the pool), walking forward and backward, movement to the right and left and hands movement too. Next was the routine with noodle. With the music, it could be quite…

Aqua Aerobics – Week 2 Challenge

This is 2nd week of my aqua aerobics class. The weather was beautiful today. Sunny and a bit windy, but nevertheless a beautiful day. When I arrived at the pool, everyone was ready to “rock n roll”. First the instructor had brought out the noodles for us. She then instructed the newbies (I was one of them) to the side of the pool and gave us a quick run down as how to use the noodle during the routines. We were told that we had to stay at the side of the pool because we needed to hold onto something like doing ballet and hold onto the side bar. Then,…

Aqua Aerobics 12 Weeks Challenge To Lose Weight

Last year, my friends had started to join an aqua aerobics group for various reasons, for example getting fit, building muscles, sleeping better at night, fitting into a skinny jeans etc. But the ultimate reason for joining an exercise regime is usually trying to get rib of the fats and cellulites formed on our ever “young” bodies. My friends had sung great praises of aqua aerobics, telling me that it had given them a great work out that surprisingly could sweat a lot, used a lot of strength and built muscles and of course fit better into their clothes. I was sceptical. I was someone who was not crazy…

My love/hate relationship with Pokémon Go and Super Mario Bros

Last year, I think my greatest change was playing mobile games. For years, I have not taken up this hobby as I know myself would get addicted to playing online games. For years, I have politely declined my friends’ requests to join their gaming community, albeit on Facebook or in person. However, not so luckily, in 2016, I got myself hooked to the biggest gaming event of the year, Pokémon Go on mobile. When it was launched in July, it quickly caught the attentions of not just the young, but the old too. The biggest reason I believe it was a success is due to it being an augmented reality…
