Ooh, Shiny! – Weekly Photo Challenge

I am fascinated by food that has ice on it. It always perks me up and makes me forgetting about the hot and humid country that I stay in. No one can separate the icy food and me. The photos below show the “chendol”, a dessert that is very popular in Malaysia. WordPress weekly photo challenge! Ooh, Shiny! Goldilocks Lifestyle Travel - Blog

Hotel review : St Giles Wembley Penang

Located on the busy street of Magazine Road, St Giles Wembley Penang is easily the tallest building on that road (if you do not count The Komtar shopping mall), dwarfing the rest of the buildings surrounding it. To it’s opposite is another hotel, which is much shorter as compared with The Wembley. We drove to this hotel by following the Google Maps. It was easy to find as Magazine Road was a busy street and it was located opposite of The Komtar Shopping Mall and 1st Avenue shopping mall. We parked our car at level 2 and proceeded to the reception at ground floor. There was no queue when we…

One Day Itinerary in Melaka (Malacca), Malaysia

We have been to Melaka once. So, we decided to go again and tried different experiences. We brought along our two kids and drove from Johor Bahru to Melaka on a Saturday morning. The drive took two and a half hours. We booked a one-night stay at Novotel Melaka. We arrived early before check-in time. So we decided to check in first. The staff was friendly and courteous, allowed us to do the necessary check-in procedures. Because we had requested interconnecting rooms, the hotel staff had accommodated our request. Once the check-in procedures were done, we went out of the hotel to the nearest eatery we could find. For…

A Day In Kek Lok Si Penang

It was a very beautiful day in Penang. The sky was a clear blue and fluffy white clouds hung in clusters. The smell of spring was here and I could not wait to go and explore Penang. This time, I brought along Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Little Bear with me. We borrowed a car from a bear relative. With the help of Goggle Map, we started our journey from the lovely hotel. Along the way from the hotel to Kek Lok Si, we passed by some shops. Everything was perfect until we were near Kek Lok Si. Apparently Sunday morning market was opened that day along the street at…

    One Day Itinerary In Penang

I have not been to Penang for more than 20 years. During the December holiday, I decided to go to Penang as a short getaway trip with my family. So this itinerary is family friendly and have been tested. To get to Penang island, you can either drive, take a coach or take the plane. For us, we drove into Penang from the North-South Expressway via the Penang Bridge. This is the first bridge built into Penang island, which resembles the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge with cable-stayed concrete girder. It used to be the longest bridge in Malaysia until it was overtaken by its sister, the Penang Second Bridge…
